At the UV DAYS the IST METZ GmbH biannually presents news in UV printing. The motto of this year’s UV DAYS is “Future of Print”. One highlight is a specially designed multifunctional packaging that appeals to all the senses and hence offers an added value at the point of sale.

After taking out the product, the packaging can be converted into an Ambient Light. This added benefit will already be communicated at the point of sale. Therefore the bottom of the folded box has been designed as a marker for Augmented Reality. When you scan the bottom of the box with your smartphone or tablet PC, a 3D image of the whole packaging will be displayed. In an animation that starts and that can be repeated any number of times it will be shown how to convert the packaging into an Ambient Light. As early as the point of sale, the customer can see what additional benefit this product has to offer. The product experience is intensified by the inclusion of digital media, as well as the appeal of the print product.
